seeing you on the sidelines in the morning, knowing you made the trip out there is one of my forever core memories.

Congratulations my friend!!! I’m just over the moon impressed by your badassery!! I love the connection to IFS and you’ve given me a lot to ponder in my own little world. The confidence part is just so critical and an athletic hobby is a perfect short circuit to get there more quickly especially with that attitude of healing NOT bullying! Speaking of, I hope your knee heals up soon. In the meantime, please bask in the afterglow for awhile!

Bravo Minnow!! Love your post-run photo - you look like you are twelve again! Getting out and working the body can be work and a joy, all in the same moment.

Congratulations, Minnow! Love the IFS connections to running. We have many childhood parts that would have been friends. :)

Loved reading your story. I can relate to a younger, pudgier me who wasn't great at sports and got picked last. Being physically active (other than dancing the Tango) has not been my priority but is something that I want to lean into more. I really love this: "The switch isn’t a switch at all but just the reality of who we are, and the work is to uncover and allow ourselves to unfold and move towards a direction that makes us feel alive."

thank you friend! i think dancing is SO active! i was telling a friend yesterday that i'd love to try and learn to dance. i think anything to move in that way and get into the body is so important.

Well done, Minnow. I am also a runner. I have done 6 half marathons. I started at 41 and still run at 72 years old. My last half marathon was in Winnipeg in 2019. I chose that city because 1 it has family there for me, and 2 it is so flat! I am a slow poke but that's okay. I love being out there by myself. It was what started me off as a writer as my second career when I retired. 25 Ways to Commit Murder Accurately Volume 1: Plants was just published on Amazon. I used to be a Poison Info Specialist (write what you know). The running definitely helps with the creativity. I've written 3 cozy mysteries that need further editing but will be published in the next year or two. I can't wait to see where your creativity leads you. Life will surprise you sometimes.

This is beautiful, Minnow!! It almost inspires me to want to run myself... 😅 I was also more of the musical type as a child. Congrats on the race. (Also, Sault is the best. My British friend recommended their music to me and I'm hooked!)
